There is a label on the belly of one elephant which reads: "67/122Y/JAD/1-21/UFO." Only half of the label on the other elephant remains: "D/1-21/UF2."

Multicolored enamels and gilding on cast bronze base.

Object Description
Chinese cloisonée pair of mirror image elephants, with candle holders and prickets atop their saddles. The elephants are executed in grey enamel with gold cloisons, and wear saddles with multicolored floral decoration against a turquoise ground. One of the candle prickets, which are loose, is missing. The elephants are accompanied by wooden lacquer bases.
