Multicolored enamels on a black enamel ground, over a cast brass or silver amalgam base.
Object Description
Small, Japanese cloisonée ewer with high arched handle opposite graceful embossed metal spout. The body of the object is decorated in a multicolored floral pattern with roundels of flowers, butterflies, and a phoenix. Between the roundles are curled cloisons. The decoration is executed against a black ground.
