Multicolored enamels on a teal enamel ground over a cast brass base. The interior is coated in green enamel.
Object Description
Small, cylindrical Japanese cloisonné vase with applied rim and base-plate. A design of three white Manchurian cranes is delineated in thin wires (yusen) against a teal blue ground. A yusen key-fret pattern runs under the rim and the same pattern in brick-red enamel runs along the base. A dark-green counter-enamel is used inside the vase and on the interior of the base-plate.
