There are three labels on the bottom of the object, which read: "6-21," "AUD/WV1/2," NY67-12/4-10."

Multicolored enamels on a reddish-brown enamel ground, with a band of cobalt ground near the base. Cast copper base with very worn gilding.

Object Description
Tall, narrow Japanese cloisonné vase with bulb near the top. The vase is decorated with three bands of design. The top band has a design of phoenix and flowers against a reddish-brown ground, with birds above. The next band is 3/4 of the way toward the bottom, and is decorated with the same birds as those above the phoenix, against a cobalt blue ground. The bottom portion of the vase is decorated with gold cloisons against the same reddish-brown ground as above.
