There is a stamp on the bottom which reads: "Foochow, China," accompanied by an emblem.

Medium
Carved wooden box with black, red, and gold lacquer. The decoration is executed in pink, silver and gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, e-nashiji, and kirikane.

Object Description
Rectangular box with lid, in gold lacquer on the exterior top and sides, and black lacquer on the bottom. The interior has red lacquer around the top edges, and gold flecked lacquer on a black ground on the interior of the box and top. There is a design painted on the top of a person in a landscape.
