Medium Lid: 1 1/4" h. x 4 1/16" d.
Medium Bowl: 2 1/16" h. x 4 1/2" d.

There is tape reading "6" on the bottom of a small bowl and on the interior of it's lid. There is tape reading "6" on the bottom of a medium bowl. There is tape on the side of the box reading "8-59." There is kanji and a red chop mark on the exterior of the top of the box. There is a seal on the bottom of each bowl.

Very thinly carved wood with dark brown lacquer and painted enamelled decoration.

Object Description
Set of six small rice bowls with lids and six medium sized donburi bowls (for soup) with lids, in a wooden storage box. The bowls and lids are lacquered dark brown, with enamelled decoration on the sides of the bowls and tops of the lids. The decoration of each piece differs. The five small bowls are decorated with: clouds, small flowers, fern branches, flowers, and grains, in gold, orange, and silver tones. The lids to the bowls have botanical motifs, except for one with clouds and ribbon. One lid includes a writing brush in the floral motif. The medium bowls are decorated with flowers, fern branches, bamboo, and fish. The lids have decorative motifs of: flowers in a vase, cat and flowers, loose flowers, bowl and bamboo, lobster and fruit. The colors are the same as the small bowls and lids.
