Blue seal on the bottom of each pot, which is a Tongzhi mark, dating it 1862-1874. Pot "b" has a sticker on the bottom reading "Made in China," and another reading "Scripps Art Dept." Pot "a" has a sticker reading "Scripps 49 P10 (illegible)" on the bottom.

Object Description
Pair of Chinese porcelain planter pots with floral designs and peacocks in bright colors against a white background. The interiors are glazed white. There is a decorative floral border around the top edge and a decorative geometric border below the lip. This piece was a mass produced functional object, used as a planter or fish bowl.
