Object Description
Chinese baluster vase with lip ring, handles, and a very elaborate elephant-motif base, all in gilt bronze ormolu. The piece is extremely fine, and has a matte texture to the class Ming-colored enamels of turquoise, off-white, iron-red, yellow, and lapis blue. The vase is decorated with panels of stylized landscape in the late Ming (mid 17th century) Transitional style. One of a pair.
