Object Description
Chinese cloisonné covered cake box with ormolu decoration and multicolored panels of flowers, a rock, and a Pekinese dog shown in a small garden yard. The bottom displays enameled red flowers on a white background, in cobalt pentagons, on a turquoise field. The sides are covered in a floral decoration against a turquoise background, with four metal openwork dragons applied. There is a rim on the foot on the bottom. The piece is probably from the Transitional Period of the late 1600's, as it displays "Transition-style" genre decoration.
