Commentary
"Soldner's Vessel, 1966, from the post-Otis period is a mature raku work. Expressive of Soldner's interest in an ever-shrinking base joined to a dominant top, the work features a running, reaching figure stretched across the body of the vessel. Casually rendered, the figure has both a primitive and evocative quality typical of Soldner's best work." (Martha Drexler Lynn, Revolution in Clay, 1994, pg. 100)
