Label reading: "For Scripps" on bottom; label reading: "Oakland Museum Michael Purkiss" on bottom.

Thrown earthenware plate. The back of the plate is stained with a black substance, possibly a black iron oxide, and is unglazed. The front is glazed with an olive green/light brown speckled background. Majolica style fruit decoration is on the front of the plate in yellows, reds, greens and black iron oxide outlining. The rim has brown and red detailing.
