Object Description
On a ribbon floating above a globe, the series title is presented in large characters (kanji), with the publisher's name on the right and the artist's name on the left. The sphere has lines suggesting longitude and latitude divisions, resembling a planetary globe, but faint kanji of the series title have replaced the continents. Over this are written the subjects of the prints, reading from right to left on the top band and then down to the next horizontal band. Clouds rise up from the bottom of the composition to give a heavenly body appearance to these lessons in Japanese history. For more information, please refer to the Chikanobu exhibition catalogue.
