Object Description
This print was one of a series depicting famous places in Edo, thus advertising not only a prominent actor but also an important part of the city such as the brick kilns at Imado.

The figure’s imposing body fills two-thirds of the picture’s space, giving much weight to the composition. With the actor hunched over and arms crossed, his face becomes the focal point amidst the dark background.
