The old number, "L1136/22" is written in pencil on the backing paper. Listed in the Munthe inventory (p. 22) as "Landscape with pines, willows, and ducks in a pond, of Ming composite style. Not to be connected with Ts'ui Po who was not a landscapist at all, but it is possible that the subject of ducks is traceable to him. Ming."
There is a signature in black ink along the lower right border of the image, which is accompanied by a very small red ink seal.
Black ink and subdued colors of paint (brown, white, etc.) brushed onto silk, with a light pink silk border.
Mounted vertical scroll with an image of a vast landscape with pines and willows, and a body of water. A grouping of brown and white ducks is painted along the lower edge. A house is seen in the distance, at the left edge of the picture, with two white egrets or cranes on the roof.
