There is a strip of brocade with characters upon it, but it is badly worn. A large square red ink seal is stamped in the lower left of the image, and a slightly smaller seal is stamped in the lower right corner of the image. Above this second seal is a signature with a square red seal.

Multicolored paints brushed onto silk, with a mauve silk brocade border.

Object Description
Mounted handscroll or birds, butterflies, ants, crickets and flowers. The birds and insects are handled with an attention and delicacy that are in contrast to the barren background.
