The work is signed Shen Quan in the lower left, but the painting is later than Shen Quan's period.

Signed Shen Quan (with two red ink seals) in the lower left (likely a forgery). A vertical strip of brocade with written characters is afixed to the upper right corner on the backing.

Red, green, brown, blue, and white paint with black ink, brushed onto silk, withy a light blue-grey silk brocade border.

Object Description
Mounted vertical scroll depicting many small sparrow-like birds among stalks of bamboo. There is an oddly shaped jagged rock in the background, and some red flowers in the lower right.
