Object Description
An early dated work, this was done when Sheets was a student at the Chouinard School of Art in Los Angeles. Here his style emulates that of his teachers at Chouinard, F. Tolles Chamberlin (1873-1961) and Clarence Hinkle (1880-1960), both of whom worked in a modified impressionistic technique. The setting for this painting is probably the rural area of the Pomona Valley where Sheets lived. Modern American oil painting depicting a rustic barn in a landscape, in muted green and brown tones.
