Commentary
Seated beneath the hooded snake Vasuki, Shiva embraces Parvati, who holds their son Ganesha. As king of the serpents, Vasuki protects Shiva and in turn protects worshippers. Ganesha helps people on their journeys, removing obstacles and granting success in the worshippers’ goals.

Object Description
Seated Shiva with a cobra around his head, in half-lotus. There is a ring in his right hand. Parvati, who is much smaller, sits on Shiva's left knee, and holds a small image of Ganesha.
