He was adopted into a family of famous Kyogen actors. Later he studied the Noh theater and became an actor for Noh performances. And finally he studied painting. He combined both, and painted scenes from the Kyogen and Noh theater which later were transformed to woodblock prints. A life devoted to Noh and Kyogen.
