Hungarian, (active 1896–1963)
Karoly Fulop was bon in 1893 in Hungary, and died in Los Angeles in 1963). He studied in Hungary, Munich, Germany and Paris, France. In the 1920’s he immigrated to the United States and settled in New York. He moved to Los Angeles in 1930 and founded the School of Decorative Arts. He is equally renowned for modernist sculptures as for his jewel-like paintings. Fülöp has exhibited at: Babcock Galleries, New York, 1921-1924; California Pacific International Exposition, San Diego 1935; Golden Gate International Exposition, San Francisco, 1939; Stendahl Galleries; and the Los Angeles County Museum, 1980.
