Torii Kiyomitsu II
Edo Hishikawa Woodblock print
Family name: Shonosuke. Go: Kiyomine, Seiryuken.
Kiyomitsu II was a ukiyo-e painter and printmaker who lived in Edo (present day Tokyo), Japan. He was the grandson of Torii Kiyomitsu, and fifth in the Torii line. He was a pupil of Torii Kiyonaga. As a young man he made prints under the go of Kiyomine, which are generally considered to be his best works. His subjects were chiefly bijin (courtesans), actors, and scenes from plays. His later works carry the name of Kiyomitsu II.
