Edward Charles Volkert

Edward Charles Volkert was an American Impressionist painter, born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was student of Frank Duveneck at the Cincinnatti Art Institute and after moving to New York studied with William Merritt Chase. He began his painting career as a portrait artist until he divorced, after which he never painted portraits again and switched to oil paintings of cattle. Volkert was a member of the New York Watercolor Club and was elected an associate member of the National Academy of Design.
