Goro Suzuki
Contemporary Ceramic
Japanese, b. 1941
Suzuki's work is a result of decades of research into the natural clays and glazes that were the basis for the classic Momoyama ware. He was born in 1941 in Senzoku-cho, Toyoda-shi, Aichi-ken, Japan. He studied for one year at a job training center before entering a private ceramics company, where he was responsible for design. He quit at the company in 1972 and began study and work on his own. Suzuki was influenced by traditional Japanese glaze clay bodies.
