American, (1858-1860–1926)
b. July 4, 1860 in Philadelphia, PA; d. April 23, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY.
Study: Penn. Academy of Fine Arts, Penn. School of Industrial Arts. Worked widely in Europe; taught at the Art Students' League. Won numerous international awards; and illustrated many books, some which he also wrote himself.
