Rachel Miller was born in 1935 in Israel. She emigrated to the United States, and later attended The Boston Museum of Fine Arts School, Chouinard Art Insitute (B.F.A.) and the University of Southern California (M.F.A., 1969). After receiving her M.F.A. Miller taught at the University of Southern California for one-and-a-half years. She began working at home after this, and raising a family.
