Jennifer Lee received her education in ceramics at the Edinburgh College of Art (Dip. AD, 1979) and the Royal College of Art in London (M.A. 1983). She also received a travelling scholarship to study ceramics in the United States in 1980. During this eight month period she researched Southwest Native American ceramics and visited contemporary West Coast artists. Jennifer has had numerous solo and group exhibitions of her work, through Europe and the United States, including retrospectives at the Röhsska Musset in Göteborg and Aberdeen Museum and Art Gallery. The work consists of declicate hand-formed vessels, colored with metallic oxides which are worked into the clay body. Haloes and bands bleed one into another, evoking geological striations within a landscape.
