b. Aug 20, 1886 in Ukraine, Russia; d. Oct 30, 1979 in California.
Wood sculptor, abstract painter, and lithographer. Apprenticed to his father, an interiot designer, at a young age, and learned about color blending and mixing. He mvoed to the U.S. in 1903, and was active in Boston and New York. Study: The Art Institute in Chicago. Settled in Los Angeles in 1922, where he lived until his death (aside from four years in France). His subjects were mainly Jewish genre scenes and mother/child secnes. He had a show at Scripps College in 1929 and in 1964, and was considered very much a California artist.
