English, (1818–1910)
b. Sept. 16, 1818 in London, England; d. June 1, 1910 in Alresford, England.
From 1843 he was an amateur etcher, though his profession was in the medical field. He was greatly inspired by his brother-in-law, Whistler. Most of his 250 plates were of landscapes. First president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers.
