Francoise Gilot

Gilot was born in 1921 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. She was a genre painter, designer, and engraver. She debuted at the Salon of the Surindépendants, and exhibited widely in Paris and the United States. Shw was the companion of Picasso for a time and had two children with him. She wrote "Life with Picasso" during this period. Her best known works were large pieces of paper stained and printed with decorative motifs.
