b. March 30, 1856, Cleveland, Ohio d. August 16, 1909, Broxville, New York.
Study: Pupil of Duveneck in Cincinnati and of Carolus Duvan(Duran), Boulanger, and Lefebvre in Paris. Showed in 1882 at the Royal Academy; spent some time with Whistler in Venice. Received many honors and metals; Associate of the National Academy of Design.
