"Perfume Bottle (Bottle with Stopper) has an expressionist sensibility, reflecting the Voulkos ethos but moving it forward by the inclusion of decorative color. The squat bottle is dominated by its overscale, frontal stopper. Large, imperfectly shaped handles sit on top of the bottle's squared body. By selecting the form of a perfume bottle, Nagle pokes fun at the craft world's inclination to emulate the forms of status objects."

Low-fire stoneware with mat glaze. Hand-built.

Bottle is a long, rectangular shape with large loop handles at each end and a large lipped neck in the center, with grass green glaze; stopper is a flat piece as large as the bottle, with two humps at the top, an incised "X" and areas of red and pink glaze. The end of stopper that goes in bottle is a green felt covered stick, that ends in a cork.
